As the newest member of the Traxxas family, the Traxxas Slash has already fallen victim to speed records and risen through the ranks as a top contender in short-course truck racing. The Slash is more than capable of excelling in any situation thanks to a spartan-like design that’s sure to put up a fight.

But exactly how fast is the Traxxas Slash?

A stock RTR (ready-to-race) Traxxas Slash will operate at a top speed of 30-35 MPH. If you have the upgraded version (with an upgraded LiPo battery and spur gear) it can reach speeds of up to 80 MPH.

The basic Slash model will come with NiMH batteries instead of LiPo batteries as well as a smaller spur gear. Despite having superior durability in all models the lower models won’t have as fast of top speeds.

All Traxxas Slash models come with Traxxas Stability Management (TSM) which will help you keep your RC vehicle steering as well as a TQI radio system. The top-of-the-line Slash models will include the Velineon brushless power system producing extreme power.

The Slash boasts a number of high-end parts that make it capable of handling any track or off-road driving you throw at it.

It has an aluminum differential housing with a composite center driveshaft and were both designed to handle serious abuse from engine torque. Out back, the Slash gets a fiberglass driveshaft that will not only handle all that power but allow the driver to match up with other popular models.

With all that power under the hood, how much speed is this Slash really capable of producing? At first glance, you might think it would be a handful to drive, but quite the opposite is true.

There are only five forward gear ratios up front with a free-running center differential in the back for easy driving and excellent control; making it easier than ever to tweak through different configurations without having to dig through menus or wrestle with feathering the trigger. If you want speed, just throw the shift switch forward and let the twin-bell crankshafts do the rest.

At just 1/10th scale, bashing around on the smooth concrete or off-road is easy thanks to four-wheel independent suspension with beefy arms out back that handle all the abuse from those high-end parts. The Slash also grips the track beautifully thanks to its Pro-Line VXL 4-wheel drive system and a slick, slalom-style body that’s crafted to handle any surface.

No matter which Slash model you have access to Traxxas support, Traxxas lifetime electronics warranty, and unmatched parts support.

How Fast Is A 2-Wheel Drive Traxxas Slash?

The Traxxas models are also very competitive and are great race cars. It comes with a number of performance modifications such as the front bulkhead, lower suspension arms, a rear gearbox, and rear axle assembly which enhance the functionality of Traxxas Slash.

The Traxxas Slash 2-wheel drive has a top speed of about 35 mph at full throttle right out of the packaging. It is also made of the best quality parts and it is designed to last for a long time.

The Traxxas models are also very competitive and are great race cars. It comes with a number of performance modifications such as the front bulkhead, lower suspension arms, a rear gearbox, and rear axle assembly which enhance the functionality of Traxxas Slash.

Just because this car starts at 35 mph does not mean that it will not go any faster. This car was actually designed to be tuned and go at least double what it starts out with. This means that the Traxxas Slash can reach speeds of over 70 mph with a larger pinion gear ratio and battery/charger.

This RC car is great for beginners and experienced racers alike. It seems as though it would be hard to control at high speeds, but this isn’t true at all. It is designed to be as fast as any other RC car on the market and provides opportunities for beginners to modify it so that they can beat the professionals.

This car is designed to be very durable and it is also easy to repair if it gets damaged. Everything on the car is designed to have a purpose and is very sturdy so that you do not have to worry about the car breaking when you are driving at high speeds.

When setting up your Slash you will want to set it up for maximum performance. This means that you should choose consistency over power because if you set it up for maximum power it will not be consistent and could cause problems when racing against other people. You can do this by making sure that your car is balanced over the center of gravity.

It is also recommended that you change the settings on the ESC (electronic speed control). You should also make sure that you have checked the tires to make sure that they are properly inflated. This is very important because too much or too little air in the tires will affect your speed (especially on slippery surfaces) and keep you from going an extra mile or two.

To maintain top speeds, you need to make sure that your car is always in good running condition and that everything is installed correctly. There are times when a driver will cut corners with their maintenance routine which can affect performance; this can cause unnecessary troubles down the road.

Why Is My Traxxas Rustler Going Slow?

The Rustler is known for being a fast RC car, which is why if yours seems to be slow, you may be confused. What happened to the RC car that is making it go slow?

There could be many different reasons that your RC car is moving slower than when you originally purchased it. Below we will go over everything you need to know about the Traxxas Rustler and why it is moving slowly.

The Traxxas Rustler is going slow because the battery pack is not fully charged, or the motor has gotten dirty or damaged. Always make sure your battery is charging properly and that you clean your RC car regularly.

Having a schedule to clean your RC car and make sure that it is operating properly is something that every person should have. Doing this will make sure that your RC car stays in good condition, and you will be able to notice if there are any issues with your battery, or if the RC car has any issues.

Your Traxxas battery will come with low voltage detection so you will know if your battery is functioning properly or is no longer lasting as long as it once was. If your Traxxas vehicle is brand new and is going slowly you should contact Traxxas via phone (just dial 888-Traxxas) or their live chat.

If your RC battery isn’t lasting as long as it was there could be an issue with the storage as improperly storing your Traxxas battery can shorten its lifespan as well.
