What Is The Biggest Traxxas Truck?

If you are into the RC hobby at all then you have likely heard of Traxxas. They are one of the leading manufacturers of RC cars and trucks today and they make a wide variety of styles and sizes, but which of their RC truck models is the largest?

The Traxxas X-Maxx is the biggest Traxxas truck currently available on the market. The X-Max comes in at about 20 inches long, 14 inches high, 19 inches wide, and weighs 19lbs

With its unrelenting 4X4 power, mammoth size, and very impressive innovation, the X-Maxx is easily one of the best monster trucks on the market as well as being the biggest made by Traxxas. Offering 30+ volts of extreme 8S power, the X-Maxx releases unbelievable acceleration and a top speed of up to 50+mph.

What’s more is that this truck can conquer even the most difficult terrains with its rugged design as it takes even the most brutal beatings in stride.

Features of the Traxxas X-Maxx

Now that we know that the X-Maxx is the biggest truck produced by Traxxas let’s take a quick look at some of the features that this monster RC truck has.

X-Maxx size

Size is always a winner when it comes to tricks and RC racing. With its size, the X-Maxx can easily climb over obstacles and navigate through even the most difficult terrains that can leave smaller trucks stuck. Its mammoth 8-inch tall tires, long-arm suspension, and wide ground clearance dwarf the surroundings to give you non-stop fun no matter where you are at.

X-Maxx power

The VXL-8s’ durability is second only to the sheer strength of its 8s 30+ volt dual LiPo battery. The speed-tuned 1200XL Big Block motor it comes with drives the X-Maxx with absolute authority and precise speed.

X-Maxx drivetrain

With the revolutionary Cush Drive system, all-steel drivetrain gears, and its super-strong driveshaft, the X-Maxx delivers all the power you need for an exciting race. The all-new Torque-Biasing Center Drive provides better driveline durability and drives bigger ring and pinion gears on extremely tough differentials.

Innovation

The cutting-edge engineering and precise integration of innovative solutions is what helps the X-Maxx stand apart from its competitors and prepare it for superior performance.

The all-new design

The modular design of the X-Mass provides all the necessary strength and makes this truck very easy to maintain. This new design also makes it about the toughest, most powerful truck around.

X-Maxx Muscle

The new VXL-8s speed control comes with advanced microprocessor control, including sophisticated software to provide smooth, responsive performance and a rich feature set. The VXL-8s offers real-time telemetry to the Traxxas Link app with the optional TQi Wireless Module.

Integrated wheelie bar

Designed to provide stability for the staggering acceleration of the X-Maxx, the wheelie bar prevents backflips under full-throttle acceleration and flexes for impact absorption on landings that are not perfect. It also comes with a convenient handle to help you carry your Traxxas X-Maxx to your next adventure.

TQi radio system

The fully-featured Traxxas TQi 2.4GHz radio system offers precision, superior speed, as well as control. Because it is Traxxas Link-enabled, you can include a module and use your smartphone to wirelessly connect it to the Traxxas Link app. With the Traxxas Link app, you can adjust your settings to get real-time telemetry.

Traxxas Stability Management

The Traxxas Stability Management (TSM) works to harness the brutal power of X-Maxx for maximum acceleration and ultimate control. You can go to your transmitter to adjust the amount of assistance from off to 100%.

Details

The well-engineered details of the X-Maxx, which you will find as you peel out the layers of this truck, are responsible for the strength and agility this powerful truck offers.

Modular Chassis Design

The interlocking modular chassis design ensures that the motor and the gear drive stay together as a unit to get rid of gear-crunching chassis flex. Additionally, the design makes it easy to access critical components, making any necessary maintenance or repairs a breeze to perform.

New 8s-rated tires

The grip that this truck offers on aggressive terrains is just as massive as the tires and wheels. There is a specially-engineered new tire compound and mounting system to handle the ferocious speed of the X-Maxx. When you’re not worried about ripping a tire off the bead, full-throttle tire-squealing acceleration is a lot more fun.

GTX™ Aluminum Shocks

The X-Maxx comes with four big high-performance oil-filled GTX aluminum shocks to smoothen rough terrains for a very easy ride. The high volume of oil distributes heat for all-day shredding while an integrated wiper seal ensures that the shafts stay clean, reducing seal wear to ensure a longer life.

Shock tower design

The shock towers of the X-Maxx comes with an exclusive Traxxas look that offers a rigid, triangulated structure and an original off-road look that fills in the openings in the wheel of the truck. There are also convenient carry handles that provide level support for the X-Maxx when turned upside down to be cleaned.

Solid motor mount with dual cooling fans

The all-new motor mount design cradles the motor preventing it from flexing on the mount. The gear mesh is secured in place by keyed pins, so tricky adjustments aren’t necessary. Getting rid of flex ensures longer gear life even in the riskiest conditions. The new dual-fan assembly helps to keep the motor cool for extended run-times.

Monster travel

The huge suspension travel, super strength, and tight turning circle of X-Maxx typically demanded so many hours of modeling, testing, and development to package all of that capability in these sophisticated components.

Waterproof components

The Traxxas X-Maxx is designed to seal out the water, so your fun doesn’t have to end when the ground is covered in water, mud, or snow. And if your truck is dirty, you can just rinse it off when you are done.

Double shear connections

When you need a lot of extra strength, the X-Maxx double shear connections provide that. The suspension hinge points, shock mounting, and the steering servo output shaft are all designed to provide extra strength. Captured, high-power steel suspension pins that never unscrew are used throughout.

Steering authority

There’s a new servo included to increase strength and torque as necessary, giving X-Maxx unmatched steering authority. The quick steering and tight turning circle alongside the advanced suspension geometry ensure nimbleness and excellent control.

Impact cushions

The X-Maxx includes new energy-absorbing impact cushions behind the bumpers in front and behind to soften the blows and provide even more durability in demanding situations.

New CV driveshafts

The X-Maxx includes the most powerful driveshaft from Traxxas to harness the twisting power of the extreme torque of the motor. The rugged design improves suspension travel, steering angles, and durability as a whole. The differential outputs are designed for strength, and the differential, for easy cleaning.

Shock-absorbing cush drive

Rather than slip, the Cush Drive sends original and uninterrupted power to the Torque-Biasing Center Drive for extreme acceleration.

Aluminum splined driveshaft

The powerful aluminum center driveshaft carries power to the differentials in front and behind. Splined drives are used all over for precise engagement, smooth racing, and extreme strength.

New maxx-duty differentials

The new X-Maxx differentials come with the biggest module steel ring and pinion gears ever to manage difficult off-road situations. The sealed differentials are filled with heavyweight oil, giving the feel of limited-slip differentials and giving the driver more confidence.

Full Contact Sealed Bearings

X-Maxx has full-contact sealed bearings in outboard locations to eliminate dirt and grime, ensuring that you can spend less time cleaning.

Torque-biasing center drive

This absorbs shocks, improving driveline durability. This Center Drive also dissipates power to all four wheels for excellent four-wheel-drive acceleration void of the side effects of a typical center differential.

Conclusion

Obviously the X-Maxx is not a model that is designed for beginners to use! However, if you are an advanced user this RC truck is well worth the cost.

This behemoth is designed to provide the most durable vehicle while also being as realistic in size and power as possible.
