The shock towers of the X-Maxx comes with an exclusive Traxxas look that offers a rigid, triangulated structure and an original off-road look that fills in the openings in the wheel of the truck. There are also convenient carry handles that provide level support for the X-Maxx when turned upside down to be cleaned.

Solid motor mount with dual cooling fans

The all-new motor mount design cradles the motor preventing it from flexing on the mount. The gear mesh is secured in place by keyed pins, so tricky adjustments aren’t necessary. Getting rid of flex ensures longer gear life even in the riskiest conditions. The new dual-fan assembly helps to keep the motor cool for extended run-times.

The huge suspension travel, super strength, and tight turning circle of X-Maxx typically demanded so many hours of modeling, testing, and development to package all of that capability in these sophisticated components.

Waterproof components

The Traxxas X-Maxx is designed to seal out the water, so your fun doesn’t have to end when the ground is covered in water, mud, or snow. And if your truck is dirty, you can just rinse it off when you are done. 

Double shear connections

When you need a lot of extra strength, the X-Maxx double shear connections provide that. The suspension hinge points, shock mounting, and the steering servo output shaft are all designed to provide extra strength. Captured, high-power steel suspension pins that never unscrew are used throughout.

Steering authority

There’s a new servo included to increase strength and torque as necessary, giving X-Maxx unmatched steering authority. The quick steering and tight turning circle alongside the advanced suspension geometry ensure nimbleness and excellent control.

Impact cushions

The X-Maxx includes new energy-absorbing impact cushions behind the bumpers in front and behind to soften the blows and provide even more durability in demanding situations.

New CV driveshafts

The X-Maxx includes the most powerful driveshaft from Traxxas to harness the twisting power of the extreme torque of the motor. The rugged design improves suspension travel, steering angles, and durability as a whole. The differential outputs are designed for strength, and the differential, for easy cleaning.

Shock-absorbing cush drive

Rather than slip, the Cush Drive sends original and uninterrupted power to the Torque-Biasing Center Drive for extreme acceleration.

Aluminum splined driveshaft

The powerful aluminum center driveshaft carries power to the differentials in front and behind. Splined drives are used all over for precise engagement, smooth racing, and extreme strength.

New maxx-duty differentials

The new X-Maxx differentials come with the biggest module steel ring and pinion gears ever to manage difficult off-road situations. The sealed differentials are filled with heavyweight oil, giving the feel of limited-slip differentials and giving the driver more confidence.

Full Contact Sealed Bearings

X-Maxx has full-contact sealed bearings in outboard locations to eliminate dirt and grime, ensuring that you can spend less time cleaning.

Torque-biasing center drive

This absorbs shocks, improving driveline durability. This Center Drive also dissipates power to all four wheels for excellent four-wheel-drive acceleration void of the side effects of a typical center differential.


Obviously the X-Maxx is not a model that is designed for beginners to use! However, if you are an advanced user this RC truck is well worth the cost.
