So will Traxxes’s Slash body fit the Stampede?
For the Slash body to fit the wheelbase and width specs for the Traxxas Stampede, but your slash may require some simple adjustments for the body to be adequately mounted. You may need to stretch the pede chassis about 1 -1/2 inches, or possibly modify the slash body itself. You can’t run away from adjustments if you want your stampede to look great.

Bodies that don’t fit the Traxxas Slash
Nitro Savage or Maxx
The Nitro Savage or Maxx body will not work with the Slash body because they are a little too short. It is not just the wheelbase of the body itself though that makes it not work. The frames are only 17-19 inches long with a wheelbase of 11-12 inches.
Traxxas front and rear body mounts
This conversion kit is something that you will need if you are adding the front, and back body mount set for the Traxxas Slash 2WD, Stampede 2WD, and Rustler trucks. This includes front and rear body mounts with 6.5mm, 25mm, 38mm, and 52mm body post extension.

You must remember that this body is full of a natural short course body, and the track width needs to be dusted to fit your kit.
If you have stock arms, use the Stampede 4*4 offset 2.8 wheels. If you have pro track arms, use the electric Stampede rear 2.8 wheels.
If you want to use standard short course wheels and tires, you will need to have the pro track arms and pairs with the Slash rear wheel to increase the track width of your truck. This will force your wheels out to match the width of the fenders.
The Traxxas Slash body fits stampede, in situations where measurements are not perfect due to different sizes. When this happens, you may need to do some trimming, or adjustments so that your truck may look great. If you have the knowledge and skill to make some modifications, you don’t need an engineer.
